The Queensland Division of the Australian Street Rod Federation, the Organising Committee and the City of Maryborough would like to warmly welcome all members of the ASRF to attend the 2019 Nationals. We will endeavour to make your stay with us as relaxed and enjoyable as it can be.
The 2019 24th Australian Street Rod Nationals will be held in the beautiful heritage City of Maryborough in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland. Maryborough is situated 255kms north of Brisbane and 114kms south of Bundaberg.
The Hervey bay area is a short 30 minute drive to the coast. It is also a hub for tours to nearby Fraser Island the world’s largest sand island. A waterfront esplanade links the city’s marina with beaches offering calm waters for swimming.
Maryborough Showgrounds is a fully fenced site of 105ha in total. It is a reserve for showgrounds and recreation managed by the Fraser Coast Regional Council. The showgrounds has hosted numerous large rallies involving thousands of people, such as the 2013 Australian Scout Jamboree, the Ulysses National AGM, and National Rallies for the CMCA and the combined Caravan Clubs of Australia.
First Opened in 1980, the site boasts numerous high standard, purpose built facilities throughout the grounds. 50ha of the grounds is dedicated to exhibition halls, buildings and open areas, with a sealed road network, excellent lighting, enclosed and undercover arenas, grandstands, canteens, bars and offices.
There are 7 amenities blocks containing a total of 51 toilet pedestals, 8 urinal troughs and 25 showers, there are disabled access toilets and showers available in these buildings, 16 extra showers will be added to supplement the total number and they will be at ground level.
Sufficient power and water outlets exist to service all poweed areas of the on-site campground. Further water and power points are scattered throughout the the grounds. The site is supplied with fresh water by an on-site tower with 1 million liters capacity. A purpose built stormwater system exists within the grounds that drain into on-site dams.
The event site is fully enclosed by a 1.8mt high chain-wire security fence topped with 3 strands of barbed wire. Access to the site is managed via lockable gates and turnstile buildings for public entry. The main event areas are well-lit with lighting for streets and car parks, exhibition areas and area lighting from spotlights on building.
A large area will be setup in a 70 x 35 metre covered arena, where entrants will be able to enjoy in a piazza style environment. The catering and evening entertainment will be conducted in this area. There is a purpose built bar area where the food vendors will be situated with lots of picnic tables scattered about to enable a casual dining experience.
A fully sealed internal road network will be utilized for cruising during non public hours and a decomposed granite track will be utilized on the public days after 4pm.
